The article analyzes the normative-legal support for the functioning of military-civilian administrations. It was established that the legislation regulating the administrative and legal status of military-civilian administrations includes: a) the Constitution of Ukraine; b) the laws of Ukraine; c) normative acts adopted by the supreme bodies of state power. The content of the Law of Ukraine “On military-civilian administrations” is clarified, the purpose of which is to fulfill the powers of local bodies of executive power and local selfgovernment in the area of repression of armed aggression of the Russian Federation, in particular in the area of the anti-terrorist operation. The role of military and civilian administrations in the mechanism of public administration, which are the leading subjects of ensuring national security in the area of c arrying out the antiterrorist operation and the operation of the united forces, is elucidated.
