The article explores the notion of the principle and regime of integrity of law enforcement off cers as the initial ethical and legal basis of law enforcement activity, which defines the boundaries and manner of behavior of law enforcement officers in the spirit of protection and respect for public values, asserting the authority of the service in law enforcement agencies and in private. One of the most important purposes of the principle of integrity is the formation of a long-term effect on virtuous behavior, which involves the development of a mechanism in the plane of the use of tools and instruments of control, verification, monitoring of integrity, improving the quality of behavioral responses of law enforcement officials in certain operational or administrative and management situations. The most important features of the normative nature of the principle of integrity, as well as any other ethical principle in the field of public law, are: the connection between law and moral values; legal possibility of applying responsibility for non-compliance with ethical rules violation by applying their own normative means of liability; the form of regulatory influence is outlined by prohibitions or restrictions; a means of controlling and monitoring behavior that is also covered by requirements beyond the exercise of public authority; codification, focus on regulating the relations of groups of persons, united by certain corporate characteristics; the higher the publicity of the individual, the higher the ethics standards, the greater the regulatory scope of the ethics mechanism. The criteria for rejecting the overriding private interest as an integral part of the principle of integrity in the exercise of the powers conferred on a law enforcement officer may be implemented in the following instructive way: preventing the receipt of loans, loans of other tangible and financial benefits with advantages not available to others; Establishing equal priority in relations with individuals and legal entities who approach law enforcement officers with legal complaints; refusal to obtain benefits that are not available to others on a general basis; non-use of official values, property entrusted to a law enforcement officer to perform official tasks in solving (satisfaction) of personal needs; abandonment of self-serving attachment by other stakeholders; preventing the demonstration of one’s own commitment to a variety of high value items, other valuable items, especially by law enforcement officials; preventing the use of office hours to solve personal problems or abuse them.
