In the article, on the basis of the analysis of scientific literature, the foreign experience of organizing interaction and coordination of law enforcement activities at the regional level is considered on the example of countries with a centralized model of providing internal security. Attention is drawn to the fact that the French model of the organization and operation of police structures is a fairly branched, multilevel system, which is characterized by a rather high degree of managerial centralization. Although in France, there is a local (or municipal) police, the management of its activities is carried out by a public off cial who is a representative of the state of the vertical, instead of the local territorial community. It has been established that the functions of organizing and ensuring the interaction and coordination of the work of French police services are relied upon by the respective leaders at the regional level, depending on the fi eld of service activity within which the cooperation takes place, as it is usually carried out not in the general but on the individual functional directions. It is established that in Germany, along with the federal, an important role belongs to the regional mechanisms of the administration of law enforcement bodies, that is, combined centralized and decentralized approaches, which are commonly called combined. This, accordingly, reflects on such managerial aspects as coordination and interaction, that is, at the regional level, the primary role in ensuring the interaction and coordination of law enforcement bodies is played by local authorities, both state and municipal, however, as the main coordinator, as a rule, actors who are representatives of the state, and not the communities, are the ones who act. It is noted that as an interesting feature of the law enforcement system of the Federal Republic of Germany, the main scope of tasks and functions as a focal point is not by the prosecutor, but by the criminal police, at the national level, federal, and by the regional departments of the land police.
