Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the problem of criminal law protection of honor and dignity of the individual. The state of definition of concepts of “honor” and “dignity” is analyzed and the necessity of criminalization of certain types of crimes in the sphere of protection of honor and dignity of individuals is analyzed. The protection of the honor and dignity of a law enforcement officer (police) lies in the direct dependence on the level of “moral culture” of society. Unless the proper protection of the honor and dignity of the police offi cer is carried out in the state, there will be no respect for and proper due diligence of the latter. The reflection of one’s dignity is directly dependent on the self-assessment of personal qualities and characteristics that every policeman has to educate in himself, and the concept and sense of honor, on the contrary, is infl uenced by public opinion, which directly depends on the dignity of a separate law enforcement offi cer.
